AI video ads in Nepal: what they are, what they cost and who they suit
A plain guide for Nepali business owners on what AI video ads are, how they are made, what they cost in Nepal and when they are the right choice over a traditional shoot.

If you sell anything in Nepal through Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, you have probably seen ads that look like they were filmed with a full crew but were made with AI. This guide explains what AI video ads actually are, how they get made, what they cost here, and which businesses they suit. It is written for owners and marketing leads who want to decide quickly whether they are worth trying.
What an AI video ad is
An AI video ad is a short video for social media where some or all of the footage, voice or animation is generated with AI tools instead of being filmed. That can mean a presenter who speaks Nepali or English, product shots placed in new scenes, animated explainers, or your own phone footage cleaned up and cut into a sharper ad.
The good ones are not made by pressing a button. A person still has to decide what the ad should say, who it is for and what the first three seconds look like. AI makes the production fast and affordable. The thinking still has to come from someone who understands your customer.
How they are made
A typical AI video ad goes through the same steps as a filmed ad, just faster:
- A short brief: what you sell, who buys it, the offer, and what you want people to do.
- A script with a strong opening line, written for the platform it will run on.
- Production: generated scenes, voice, product shots and on-screen text, mixed with your own photos or footage where that helps.
- Editing and checking by people, so the product looks right, the Nepali or English reads naturally and nothing looks strange.
- Several versions of the same idea, so you can test which opening or angle works best.
Because no shoot is needed, a set of new ads can be ready in days rather than weeks. That matters more than it sounds, because ads wear out. People stop noticing an ad they have seen many times, so you need fresh ones regularly.
What AI video ads cost in Nepal
Prices in Nepal vary a lot, from freelancers charging per video to agencies charging monthly. When you compare, check three things: how many videos you get each month, whether the price includes running the ads, and whether ad spend is included or separate.
For reference, our own packages at Dyangai start from Rs 25,000 a month for new video ads every month, from Rs 40,000 a month when we also run your Facebook and Instagram ads, and from Rs 70,000 a month when we also handle lead follow-up. Ad spend is separate in every package and goes straight from you to Meta. You can see what each includes on our pricing.
A single filmed ad with a crew, location and editing usually costs more than a month of AI ads, and you only get one video. That is the main reason Nepali businesses are moving to AI for their everyday ads.
Which businesses they suit
AI video ads work best when you need many ads and need them often. They suit:
- Online shops and brands selling products on Facebook and Instagram, where new ads every month keep sales steady.
- Service businesses such as clinics, colleges, consultancies, travel agents and restaurants that want more enquiries on Messenger and WhatsApp.
- Businesses that have tried boosting posts and want something more reliable.
- Companies with products that are hard to film, such as software, finance or anything that needs explaining.
They suit you less if your whole brand depends on real people being filmed, such as a famous chef or a doctor whose face is the business. Even then, AI ads can work alongside your own footage. We often use clients' photos and videos inside the ads we make.
Will people know it is AI?
Some viewers will notice, and that is fine if the ad is useful and honest. What hurts results is an ad that looks odd: hands that look wrong, a voice that does not match the face, or Nepali text with mistakes. That is why every video should be checked by people before it runs. Never use AI to fake a testimonial, a celebrity endorsement or a result you did not get. Apart from being wrong, it breaks Meta's advertising rules.
How to judge whether they are working
Do not judge an AI video ad on likes. Judge it on what it was meant to do: messages, calls, sales or sign-ups, and the cost of each. Run three or four versions at once, let them spend enough to show a difference, then keep the winners and replace the rest. That loop, repeated every month, is where the results come from. A single ad, AI or not, rarely changes a business.
What to do next
Write down the one product or service you most want to sell this month and the question customers ask most before buying. Those two lines are enough to brief your first set of AI video ads.
